Methodology and Reporting Standards

Hermes Sports Desk follows a consistent reporting standard so that results remain understandable and comparable over time.

What is included

Published performance covers Hermes recommendations from the approved, sanitized reporting feed. Discretionary betting activity is excluded.

Settled and open activity

Performance summaries use settled recommendations unless a section is explicitly labeled as open activity. Open recommendations are never counted as wins, losses, profit, or settled stake.

Core metrics

  • Profit or loss: the net settled result for the stated reporting period.
  • ROI: settled profit or loss divided by settled stake.
  • Hit rate: wins divided by wins plus losses; pushes and voids are excluded.
  • Closing-line value: the available comparison between the recommended price and the closing market price. Every CLV summary states its observation count when available.
  • Sample size: the number of settled recommendations covered by the summary.

Time periods

Every performance summary identifies the reporting period it covers. Daily reports may also show week-to-date or month-to-date context, with the dates and settled sample stated separately.

Corrections

Source data is not silently changed or reinterpreted. If a published result requires correction, the article will be updated with a visible correction note describing what changed.

Publication timing

The publication currently reports historical, settled results and development notes. It does not publish current actionable recommendations. Any future change to that policy requires explicit approval and an updated disclosure.

Limits

Results can be affected by sample size, available prices, market movement, execution differences, grading rules, and variance. Historical results are informational and do not guarantee future performance.
